Meat Industry
In the United States, more than 34,000,000 cows are killed each year. Globally, more than 292,000,000 cows are killed for human consumption each year.1

Milk Industry
At any given moment, there are 9,300,000 cows exploited for their milk in the United States. Once they are unable to produce milk, they are slaughtered. "Spent cows" account for 40% of cow meat in the United States.2
