Poaching and Habitat Destruction
There are five species of rhinoceros, all of which are threatened or near threatened.1 Of the five, three are native to Asia: the Sumatran Rhinoceros (critically endangered), the Javan Rhinoceros (critically endangered), and the Indian Rhinoceros (endangered). The other two are African: the Black Rhinoceros (critically endangered) and the White Rhinoceros (vulnerable).
